Windows Across Front of Rear Extension - Heat?

Hi All,

We currently have a large glass roofed conservatory on the rear of the house (SW facing) and looking to extend it sideways and put a tiled roof on.

We will be looking to put a 3 or 4 pane bi-fold in the centre but not sure what to put either side. I was thinking of running glass windows along up to the ends a bit like the conservatory so that you have full view of the garden but not sure if that will make the room warmer/colder or if its just the current glass roof that's responsible for that.

Obviously, the other alternative is to brick up the sides and put a window in but then you lose your view.

Any experience/suggestions welcome.
