wireless alarms?

hi can anyone advise me on an easy install alarm to buy for my friends new 3 bedroom house. he has expensive motor bikes and tools in seperate garage and would prefer something that could be connected to mobile phone network/police or response , something along them lines.
nothing too flash just reliable and easy to install.
anyhelp would be appreciated.

You really really need to look at fitting a wired system.

It will be a bit more fuss to install to start with, but will give you years and years of trouble free service.


With wireless you will have alot more problems with reliability, and it will require a much higher level of maintainence.

Expect to pay around £250 for a decent complete system (without fitting).

If you are serious about protecting the property, and the valuable contents you mentioned, then you really dont want to be fitting a toy alarm.

thats exactly what he wants.Are these difficult to install?the house is in need of refurbishing and routing cables wouldnt be a problem.just trying to save him some pennies thats all.

If you have a logical mind and read the manual, anyone can wire and programme an alarm system. Allow a good hour for programming!

If ypu want the alarm to call the police ( which would be via an alarm monitoring company ) then the alarm and installation has to be approved by that company. If you are going down that route then check FIRST with the monitoring companies.
