Wireless modem keeps dropping signal

Our home wifi signal has started to keep dropping off!

Haven't changed the wireless modem or provider and the wifi signal used to be good throughout most parts of the house.

Over the past few weeks the signal appears to have started dropping off, both on the Iran around the house and on the desktop is is wired to the modem.

All the lights are lit showing a signal/connection but Internet is not always available. It does cut in and out without any real reason, all times of the day!

Very infuriating! Provider is tiscali (talk talk) if this makes any difference?

Anyone any ideas what the problem is? Do I need a new modem?

If it is occurring with a hard wired link then it is highly unlikely to be an issue with wifi.
It is maybe worthwhile trying (borrow one off a mate?) another modem to see if this clears up the issue. If you phone talk talk and get them to send you a new modem you may end up locked into another contract.
Might be worthwhile asking them to test the line however depending who you get on the phone it may be easier extracting hens teeth than getting anywhere bar around in circles and a great headache with them!!

Try tuning it to another frequency, I had the same issue and that fixed it.

Of course there can be a million reasons why this happens, so pot luck if it works.
