Hi

Can anyone recommend a wireless router for Virgin cable running an NTL broadband modem.

I'm only running a laptop on vista that is wireless enabled.

thanks

Many different to choose from. Any from the major manufacturers should work. If you are a novice, I would suggest sticking to the domestic end of the market though as these will be easier to configure. D-Link, Netgear, Linksys. If you are looking for a second had one, make sure it has WPA encryption not just WEP as people can crack WEP in minutes now.

Netgear are pretty reliable and easy to set up...

This is the sort of thing you're looking for.

Bear in mind that usually by default the wireless is switched off, and to set up the router you'll first need to connect via a cable..

if you're going to be playing online games, forget wireless and go wired.

Actually, Netgear tends to have the wireless switched on and open, which is worse. I would agree with using a cabled connection o set it up though.
