Try plugging a network cable into your computer directly from the router and see if the connection improves to see if its the BB itself or the wireless that's effected.

If you have an android device, wifianalyzer will help show who's using what channel.

Good news! The internet is back to its whizzy self. And I didn't do a thing. All the nearby hubs are still there but my wireless is chugging along just fine. I get the feeling it might have been a TT problem all along.

A mate said he had similar problems last year, turned out BT were doing some work at the local exchange. Strange that TT didn't mention anything about any ongoing work.
