Wiring a 2-Gang Light Switch

Unfortunately, the switch doesn’t have a ‘top’ marking. But as the other side is 2-way it doesn’t matter.

In normal 1-way wiring, I have never wired a switch where one side went to L1 and the other half went to L2 to achieve the situation where both halves had to be down to switch on. Have you?

Unless I’ve misunderstood, crystal ball socks is saying it needs L1 on one side and L2 on the other. And that ain’t right.

:)

The switches are marked like this:

COM...L2 L1
L2 L1..COM

The right side markings are reversed to allow for it being upside down.

I am not sure if all switches are like that.
Don't you normally have to wire the right side to L2 because it's upside down?

These are just rotated,

so you would have to use differently marked terminal for the upside down one (or two).

I should have taken note of the raised bits of the moulding which show which terminal goes to which contact.
