There is a ceiling rose nere by that's for the 1st floor landing.

I was thinking of using the ceiling rose to power the new one.

I am using a 1.5mm cable but don't know what cables go were can someone help me please.

Thanks in advance

At your ceiling rose put your new live cable brown into live loop normally the centre terminals with red cables. Put the blue neutral into the neutral loop and the sleeved earth into the earth loop,
At the switch put the brown in the C terminal and the blue in a terminal block , connect the earth to the earth terminal lug.
From the switch run new cable to the light.
At the switch put the light cable brown in the L1 terminal and connect the blue together with the other blue in the terminal block.
Connect the earths together - sleeve them.
At the light put the brown in the live and the blue in the neutral and the earth in the earth.
1mm T&E is sufficient for this job.
