Hello

I'm propose to wire in a frost stat and IR lamp in the loft. There is a 2.5mm2 junction box nearby with one cable coming from the consumer unit and one going to the immersion heater. The box is rated 30A. Can I run 2.5mm2 t&e cable from the box to a fused connection unit (fused with 3A fuse) and from there form my circuit to stat and bulb and back to fcu with 1.5 mm2 cable?

Thanks

Your immersion circuit should be a dedicated radial.

Can you not take your feed from elsewhere?

Pretty long cable run from new spur to IR lamp. But I think it's the best option. Many thanks.
