Hi all,
Im replacing an old honeywell wheel thermostat with a newer lcd one.

The wiring diagrams are below.
Ive wired permanent L and N, i also have what I assume is the switched L.
Now my assumptions are as follows....
Going off the new wiring diagram
I wire N to N (3)
The two L wires to NC (1) and NO (2) then add in a bridge at the thermostat to L (4)
If I'm correct do I bridge 2 to 1 or 4 to 1?

if I'm totally wrong, someone please enlighten me.

Bonus question,
I also have an additional temp sensor which I wire into the side, is this needed or can I rely on the inbuilt sensor?

thank you!!

You need N & L for operating power. Be careful with thermostats the blue wire isn't always a neutral.

The wire in terminal 1 is live and terminal 2 is neutral, as shown on the diagram inside the lid you show.

So having identified the N & L the switched live is in Honeywell terminal 3.

The switched live for your new thermostat is NO (Normally open)

That's it, no bridges required.

No idea about the remote sensor, that's for electric UFH, is that what you have? What do the new thermostat instructions say?

Thanks for your reply! I've wired the switched to NO and L and N to respective ports. The stat powers up and I can hear it switching but the boiler does not fire up.
Any thoughts?

You have the electric UFH version of the thermostat and are trying to fit it to a boiler. It doesn't have the NO connection you mention in your first post.

For this thermostat:

Live is L
Neutral is N
Switched Live is L1

N1 isn't used.

Assuming that it's not for UFH then the remote sensor isn't required, whether the thermostat will work without it or not is another matter.
