I'm looking for some guidance on how to wire a couple of Shelly 1PM mini to a British two-gang switch with loop-in wiring. I'm more familiar with continental wiring systems, so I'm a bit confused about the specifics of this old Georgian House setup.

Here are the details of what I'm trying to achieve:
  1. Components Involved:
    • Shelly 1PM mini
    • Two-gang switch
    • Loop-in wiring configuration
  2. Specific Questions:
    • How do I identify the switched live outputs?
    • Do I divert the neutral (black) from the chock block?
    • This ground wire chock block (yellow/green) uses a lot of real estate: would a wago allow me to free up space?
I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

I used a meter,
Diffrence line neutral 8 Feb 24 reduced.jpg
it will show volts, ohms, and current, including non-contact volts, and does most of what I want. There are other meters, and testers, but in the main one shown will find most of what you need.

The Shelly 1PM only has make contacts. If you are thinking of putting it in the switch wiring then that won't work as you need changeover contacts for that.
Fit your Shelly at the light itself, assuming you have loop-in at the light.
