Hi

Having a problem after changing a switch. Have wired back as it was in the old switch. Now only one of the 2 switches is working and it's controlling bathroom light as well.

Anything obvious wrong? Have put a YouTube link as couldn't upload photo

Thanks in advance

Post a picture ,showing the terminal markings.
What does each switch normally operate ?
Are both wired as two way ( linked to other switches )?
As a seperate issue the earth conductors should connect to the switch plates earth terminal.

There is another single switch right next to it which operates the bathroom light. But this is now switching on with the light in the hallway which it wasn't previously

Not quite sure but it looks like it's wired as above.

It sounds like the brown in with the grey should be in the black and one of the brows there should be in the grey.

I've drawn as if looking through the front of the switch.

Thanks for your quick reply. So basically the wrong brown wire is in with the grey and I would have to try the others to work out which should be in there?

The blues [neutrals] are joined together in a choc block.
Yes I saw that, wasn’t sure they were being used as neutrals. Sorry, just revised your diagram, thought you were showing them connected at switch, but the grey blocks are representing the twin and earth?

There are brown wires in the same terminals as the grey and the black.

I suspect those three browns are permanent live feed in, permanent live feed out (ie to bathroom), and switched live to hall light.

So you need the perm feed in and perm feed out and the black in one terminal.
The switched hall light and grey in the other terminal.

Sorry yes, should have said.
Also earths not shown for clarity.
