My assumption is not that it is mounted there, but that it is stored there when not being used.

Much like some people have tools clipped to the wall.

My first thought is along the lines of ... MK, metalclad, someone's got spare cash (or had before buying that !).

EDIT: But me being picky, the second thing I noticed was the Quick-connect mounted sideways and it's cable coiled up and stuffed in a gap

No I definitely could not, and MK metal clad is the only way to go if you're going metalclad. The only thing I wasn't too keen on in that photo was the steel conduit coming in, and the PVC coming out
