We bought our washing machine oct 09 and has been in storage for around 18 months and has only been used for 18 months. We recently moved house and on arrival found the machine didnt work. Even though we took all precautions necessary when moving the machine. We turned the machine on and all it does is flash, there are also no error codes coming up. So on this we called a local plumber out and he has said it will need a new control board and advised us to phone hotpoint up. After looking on a few forums I have heard that hotpoint charge an arm and a legand also heard a few horror stories for fixing this sort of thing. Wondering if anyone can help

What flashes. All the lights just one, does the door lock does it start to fill etc. also why call a plumber he can't do nothing. Hotpoint charge 105 to supply and fit parts all in , that's not expensive seeing as the pcb / motor are at least 80.00 each if you bought them but you need a program writer to fix it. You best bet is to call them. Or scrap it.

Every single light starts flashing then it won't do anything. It won't even start a cycle. Just seems a shame to scrap it as its hardly been used.

Regards
