wont allow me to view sites

hi, i dont know if it is anything related to my other problem but i cant seem to view sites eg... i can get on natwest site but when i try and log on it says "unable to find server " blah blah blah and various other sites and i cant buy anuthing off any sites.. thanks

From this and your previous posts, it doesn't sound like you are not connected to the internet!! That said, how are you posting on this site, different computer ?

In that case your home internet connection is not connecting. Moer details on how you attempt to connect are required.

Ed, i aint got a problem with connection seems to be working fine i can surf ok its just when i go on certain sites ie banking or buying etc

Can you tell us which Windows 2K service packs you have installed. Also details of any antivirus, firewall and antispyware software. In fact as much info as you can.

do you realise you are talking to a idiot
ive recently downloaded free anti virus and fiewall but cant remember names as im at work
but im sure the problem started before i downloaded them DOH

in that case, it may be your fire wall not allowing access to certain sites, they usually have specific settings

ok breezer what shall i do uninstall firewall and see if it makes a difference ?

Better not to uninstall - try to turn the firewall off and see if it makes any difference (or check the security setting on it)
Does it only stop you going onto secure sites ? (page addresses that start "https" rather than "http")
