Wood bathroom floor?

I live in an old house, and the floors are all original painted floorboards which I like, at the moment the bathroom floor is cork matting, but very old, I'm wondering if I could pull them up along with the underlayer and use the original flooring like the rest of the house?
Am I being naive in doing this, the flooring doesn't usually get wet as I always use bath matts.
