I've just laid 9mm ply over the boards in my bathroom. As prep for vinyl. I've done that before in other rooms and carpet fitters always say it's perfect/lovely job/easy to lay carpet on top of etc.

Just round the toilet couldn't really scribe it perfectly, because of where it is. So there's a bit of a gap all the way round (5mm?) and a bit more at the back (15mm at the worst).

I'm expecting them to stick the vinyl down (is that best) and to seal at least round the toilet, if not the whole room (probably can't do it all as the skirting is very high in a couple of spots).

I was going to fill the gaps round the toilet with that 2 part Ronseal filler, which I've use on other jobs and seems very good. That way there won't be any sort of void under the end of the vinyl so should seal well.

Good idea?

One ones going to foot tread where you mention, the 2part filler could bond the base of the wc to the ply.

I'd suggest you use putty, its waterproof and flexible.
