Wood flooring choices

Hi
I have a room of about 6m sq. I am removing old floorboards and want to fit square edge boards PAR (not T&G). The choices I have seen so far are white or redwood which are cheap but not that good and oak which look quality but pricy. Any thing in between price wise?
I am looking for around 150mm wide by 20mm height.

Egineered wood can look rather nice. Did our hall with it a few years ago. Prices can vary a lot so an hour's searching is advised.

Do they do planed PAR, not T&G? I haven't seen.
