I am building and installing a new modern slatted wooden fence and cladding 2 small sheds in my garden. I have ordered the wood (Larch) as it met my criteria of cost/quality. Before I install it I want to tint the wood with a more amber colour and apply protection. The query I have is what is the recommended stain/protector brand/product that will give good result and be reasonable in terms of cost.
I have heard that water based products are ideal...not sure if that is opinion or truth
Any help greatly appreciated.
PS - I should be able to recoat every 1-2 yrs as I have a spray gun and am making the fences so that they are easily removable, so longevity is not my highest priority.
