It would appear that our Baffle plate is about 1/4 " too short as it keeps falling down. Does anyone know where we can get a replacement. Also I have heard that some people take theirs out completely and would be interested to hear others view on this practice.

The baffle plate needs to be there....you'll lose lots of heat straight up the chimney otherwise, and the flue pipes will be too hot.
Sometimes the fireclay cheeks of the stove fail, causing the baffle to fall, but if you are sure the thing is too short a replacement is probably available from the manufacturer. After a while, the baffles tend to distort with the heat anyway.
Failing that, its a small job for a blacksmith or similar to weld extra bits on or you could even bolt stuff on if you want.

Thank you for your kind reply. We had a friend look at it and it now fits! The problem was the instructions which show and tell us to lower the rear of the baffle plate onto the firebrick casing at the rear (internal) once positioned on the two lugs to the front. It turned out that there are two lugs at the back and it is these that the baffle plate rests on.

Simple once you have done it.....the 4 peg method is common enough, but sometimes it can be a pain to wriggle the baffle into place.
