Wooden extractor duct

Just had the sparky in and we’ve had to drop the extractor in the downstairs toilet.

The ducting is made of plywood!!!

WTAF? That can’t be right?

It might be a bitch to clean but I guess wood would be ok? It's a toilet, not a steamy shower room?
If they had loads of ply and no time/money to get a plastic one then why not?

I wouldn't use wood in a bathroom or on a cooker hood

There’s no sign of damp or mould but it does seem massively heath Robinson
