Hi All
I was just wondering if anybody had ever used a double layer of fibreboard under lay under 6mm laminate? The reason I need to do this is there was originally 18mm soiled wooden flooring and all the doors and frames have been cut to fit.
I have spoken with flooring supply companies and they don’t think there will be a problem but the fitter turned up and said it was a bad idea. He what’s to put down another layer of 6mm ply at extra cost (we have already put down one layer of 6mm of ply) it’s a big area of about 60sqm with one room of about 30sqm
What do you all think?
Other facts it’s a timber floor not concrete?

I agree with your fitter: fibre board underneath 6mm laminate is asking for a bouncing floor!
