My Husband and my self live in a upside down house ie kitchen living area is upstairs and i am wanting to carry on with the wood flooring we have put in the kitchen into the hallway and to the top of the stairs but we have carpet on the stairs and we are unsure if you can join the wood flooring onto stair carpet safely. :?: Any help and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You would a stair nosing for this. It's a piece of wood containing two parts: one that sits on the landing and the other part is connected to it (T&G) so it covers the top part of the stair carpet.
