Woodworm treatment for roof joists

I've just got a new roof installed and would like to treat the joists to avoid getting woodworm in them (has proved to be a hazard in surrounding areas so would rather be safe than sorry!). I want something that is not going to react adversely with the roofing 'felt' that has been used so could someone advise on what would work. Cheers james

If it's new, it'll be a long time before the worm sets in, and insectides are never "safe". If and when you do get worm, a greenhouse smoke bomb in May will help, just be out for the day.
