Had a breakdown just now, boiler lights up, stays alight for about 5 seconds and then flame goes out.

The whole time its alights, its sparking, so I think its got to be the Flame Sensor electrode or the pcb. Trouble is, I didnt know how to elimintate either one so have gone for the electrode, and if that doesnt work, will go for the pcb.

My questions are

1) does what I said make sense?!!!

2) how would you test the flame sensor electrode and / or the pcb?

Thanks guys

newcomers how on earth do you begin to fault find without knowing how to check polarity? L2N 240, L2E 240, N2E 0 - 15v

please dont start about not having to know it before.
its the first thing you learn or should learn before fault finding.

my first fault finding senario was when i joined corgi. i should have done joinery instead.

I think most if not all MI's fault finding charts start off with the basic electrical checks that should be carried out.

newcomers, you need to know how to do it.

You also need to understand what you are doing and why you are doing it.

Ask someone at work to go through it with you.
