Hi, I'm housesitting and the CH has been on since I've been visiting the house (5 days), but this morning when I visited the house and radiators were cold. I thought maybe it had already turned itself off as I was a bit later calling round, but anyway when I called this evening, house and radiators still cold and no hot water.

The front of the boiler is already removed (think they must have to fiddle with it on a regular basis LOL!) There is a green light on called 'Demand' but the red power on light is off. Does this sound the same as 'lock out' which I've experienced with my own boiler? if so, with my boiler, I've just pressed a reset button - but I can't find anything that says reset on this boiler, or do you think its something else? Theres a guage thing set at about 1.5. There IS a red button which doesnt have any description - too worried about pressing it until I found out some more about it LOL!

As the heating had been coming on for the past 5 days I'm assuming that its been programmed to do so for the whole time I'm there, could it be the programming messed up maybe? Any ideas please, thanks.

If the cover is off then the overheat stat is a reddish button on the top of the controls box about 2/3s of the way acress.

Push it gently and see if it goes down a couple of mm and starts the boiler.

If not then turn the rads knob to zero for 10 secs and then back up to 2/3 of full.

Failing all thet turn off the power going to the boiler for three minutes!

Hi tony, thanks for the quick reply. Well been round this morning, pushed the red button - didnt start the boiler, tried the rads dial down to zero and back up - nothing. As to turning the power off going to the boiler - well...gonna sound really daft but can't find the power switch - I just don't see anything obvious, maybe I just can't see for looking LOL!

I'll have another look this evening, but any other suggestions in the meantime? thanks again.

The boiler SHOULD have been fitted with a local isolating switch ior a fused spur which can be used to turn power off by removing the fuse.

Maybe someopne else will have a suggestion?

After you have interrupted the power, then if that does not start it then my next suggestion would be to call a competent engineer!

Always test boiler on DHW first.

Tony
