  Please help
I have a worcester 240 that is playing up just as we are selling our house.
Pilot keeps going out intermittently.Started when heating was on then demand for water cut out the pilot.Did,nt do it all the time. Replaced Modureg & temp sensor.still did it.Recommended to change diverter valve.Did that yesterday (£98 ). Still does it but even more common now. Cuts out for fun have to light pilot nearly all the time when either heating on for a while or demand for water. Moving house & 3 kids making this a nightmare..Please help don't want to spend much more would have been cheaper to get a new boiler

Which model of 240 is this?, is it the old 240 open flue gc no 4731109, I think that is the only one with a permanent pilot. No modureg though.

HI there
It says modureg on the pcb, but yes it is the old style pilot light( manual ) . Gone out again geting a bit peed off with it now...

Start by getting the pilot injector and bray replaced and you may as well change the thermocouple while your in there, sounds like its briefly lifting the pilot flame off the thermocouple when the gas goes to full rate.

Hello mr. flair.Regarding your problem with your boiler, how old is the appliance?.Has it been regularly serviced?Cyberspace answer to your problem, have boiler serviced by an engineer with experiance of this boiler, and, possibly a full chemical pwerflush.Hope this is of some help,Mike.

Hi again all. Yes it has had a new thermocouple & injector as well these were the first things i have changed. It is around 10 years old but has been serviced every year...

Do you have an overheat sensor on this model?
On the floor standing highflow models with permanent pilot this was often the cause. If you do replace it make sure the T/C connection is tight at the back of the gas valve.
