Yep - gas valve wasn't 'gas valving'...and the pressure relief valve threw a wobbly, too.
So I'm glad I got a BG contract or it would have been heading on to £300, instead of the £130!
Its quite a common fault that the part of the gas valve that supplies the pilot fails even though it may click!
But the first thing for a CORGI to check is that the pilot itself is not blocked. That should be checked/cleaned on a service but thats rarely done on the few boilers which ever get a proper service.
Cheers, Agile.
I'll be watching closely when the 'service' is due.
Also, the amount of gunk that came out when he removed the relief valve was scarey!
So I may just get some sort of filter...I've been told they are good.
