worcester 24i combi boiler pressure problem

my problem is that when i run the hot tap the pressure on the boiler lift and then blows the pressure release valve thus leaving the boiler with no pressure. I thought it might be the diverter valve passing mains water into the heating side but.... there is no diverter valve in the boiler HELP..
