Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone can hep me with this problem.

My boiler wont fire up unless you apply pressure to the front of the timer. ive been wedging a stick against it and if you get it right the heating will stay on. if not it'll keep cutting out. the timer on the boiler is the circular dial with teeth all around it that you press in to set a time. it also has a little plastic switch that you push down to ignite the boiler.
Its also making a constant clicking noise that sounds like its coming from the timer.

Can anyone diagnose this fault and is it DIY fixable... cheers

replacement timeclock is quite inexpensive, you have the worcester mechanical timer. the new on fits exactly the same, use a screwdriver to prise it out. The new one is wired blue grey brown from l to r as you look at it 9 similar to current wiring.

I think your problem however is with the PCB. Easy job to change depending on your prowess.

Thanks very much for you advice.

I've stripped it back to reveal the PCB and i've noticed that the relay RL1 has carbon marks on the inside of the transparent casing. This must be the problem or one of them at least. I've not changed it yet, I'm going to order a new PCB tomoz.

Once again thanks. Lee

It will be the PCB for sure, Very common for that relay to go on this boiler.
