Am I alone in thinking this is a nightmare job. Need to change the PRV but it's tucked right up the arse of the boiler. Service manual advises to remove the 'hydraulic block'. i.e. pump, diverter valve, plate heat exchanger etc which requires opening no end of connections ... has anyone carried this out recently, and is there any knack?? Advice appreciated

Assuming your on about the greenstar pal!

Don t remove hydraulic assmly if you can help it! Where do the pipes go from the boiler? If it's below you are in luck! Undo the cold feed or gas pipe move out of the way get your sausage fingers easily through the gap and remove.. 10 mins job!

If pipework goes up behind the boiler then you need to remove the pump! 5 mins! Bypass tube and return assembly, even doing all that won't take more than an hour. And that's including re assembley!

Bear in mind that a failing prv is virtually never the only fault; chances are your system is full of crap which caused the prv to fail. This needs solving too.

Thanks. Ya, it is the Greenstar. I will have a look again...
