Worcester 28cdi combi boiler-programmer/thermostat

I need to replace a faulty worcester digistat. The boiler is in a basement surrounded by brick walla and topped with a concrete floor. The wireless unit is not effective other than almost adjacent to the boiler location.
Is there an alternative wireless unit or can I easily fit a wired unit. If the latter what is involved?
