Hi,

I have a problem with the above boiler where I cant re-pressurise it. Whenever I try to top up the pressure which is just under 1 bar it goes straight out the release pipe at the side of the house.

Am I right in assumung that changing the valve should sort this problem?

If so is this a job I could do myself by following the instructions in the service guide?

If not can you suggest what else may be the cause and will I need to call out a plummer.

Sometimes you can clear the valve by putting some pressure into the system, and turning the test cap on the valve.

One way it won't turn, but the other way it will spin, making a loud clunk every quarter turn or so.

If that doesn't help you'll need to change the valve.

If it's the same design as the 26cdi, there's a clip that holds it in, if I remember correctly, and it should be a DIY job if you're reasonably competent.

Pressure guage is probably blocked and reading incorrect pressure.

Thanks for the advice guys, I will see if I can clear the valve.

Is there any way I can check and unblock the pressure guage if required?

yes, you need to isolate and the drain boiler ch side, then follow back from the pressure gauge to the yellow hydro block. Then taking care remove pin and ease out gauge.

Looking into the hydro block you will see black sludge blocking the hole, and also on the gauge hole.
