Hi there,

Please could someone help? My boiler needs the pressure adjusting, I've looked at a manual online and apparently there should be a white/grey knob next to the key hole, but there doesn't seem to be on mine. Looks like this:

Apologies if this is something I should already know, but I'm a single mum and I'd rather not take time off work if I can help it!

Thanks very much

Lucy xx

You need what's called a '28cdi bypass key' search eBay they're only a couple of quid... Just a piece of plastic with two o-rings. Insert the key, then turn the grey knob to let more water in.

Thank you but I can't see where this grey knob is?! Am I being daft? Cheers xx

Sorry I've just seen your picture. Difficult to see exactly but it looks like your knob has been overturned and snapped off the filling loop. I replaced my 28cdi 4 years ago though so doing it from memory.

Do a Google image search for 28cdi filling loop and you should see what you're meant to have.

Ah OK thanks, looks like I'll have to get someone out then if it's broken. Thanks anyway xx

Are you sure the knob isn't the black one just out of shot on the left of your photo?

The knob has sheared off. New filling link assembly needed. Easy to fit. Part about thirty quid.

Are there not TWO filling knobs on these?

One either side of the "T" filling key.

Tony

The knob is sold as a separate part...part number is 87161211090 and costs less than a fiver.

Thank you, is it easy to fit? I'm crap at this sort of stuff xx thanks

The knob just pushes on. If the spindle has sheared, then it is a new charging link assembly which is a bit harder to fit. Try the knob first and report back if you need help.
