I have a danesmoor 15/19 with a programmer. For some reason when the heating is active so is the Hot Water, it used to be independant and we have the water on for 20 mins a day to keep it topped up, but now you cant turn the water off, even if its set to OFF, the light still comes on when the heating is on, and the water is getting red hot?

I have reset the programmer and have used it for 2 years with no problems, so i do know its not set incorrectly.

We did have the boiler moved but i cant get hold of my plumber till Wednesday.

Is it something silly?

It sounds like a failed motor valve.

Having said that its not a big disadvantage until your plumber can come over.

Its the people without hot water who are unhappy!

Ive spoken to Worcester and they say i need a new motor diverter valve, however, my plumber says its doesnt have one fitted to it, and never has.

they have both contradicted each other and now im stuck and my plumber says its working correctly, Worcseter says it needs a new part.

I know for 150% that we used to have the water on independantly of the central heating, its so pointless heating the water for 6 hours a day.Again in 100% that we used to have the water on for 10 mins in the am and 10 in the PM and that was it. totally separet from the heating.

Any comments or thoughts as im stuck?

The valve should be in the airing cupboard next to hwc. get your plumber to check that.
