Hi all, my first post on here, hopefully someone can help me out :)

I recently bled my radiators to let some air out because they weren't performing very well.
As a result, the pressure dropped in my boiler.
I had a fumble round under the boiler, and purely by chance, started to fill the boiler..
However, I was unaware of how to stop.. By the time i managed to stop, the pressure was at the top end of the green on the dial (about 2.5bar).

Can someone please advise the best way to try reduce the pressure, or will it still work at this pressure?

Also, since filling, the pipework around my house has started to creak/growl, it had never done this before refilling the boiler. Is this a bad sign????

May not like the increased pressure, hence the noise. Assuming its 2.5 bar cold, this will increase further as boiler is working. To lower pressure either bleed some water from a rad, or open drain cock somewhere and let a bit out. Preferable to do this either in sight of the boiler (and pressure gauge!), or get someone to watch the pressure whilst you let some water out the system. From memory about 1 bar is adequate for these.
