Worcester Bosch 28CDi - Time for a change?

Dear knowledgable community,
I have enjoyed my 28cdi since installation in 1999.
It had a replacement diverter valve about 5 years ago and a new gas valve a year later. It looks like the diverter valve is on it's way out again (micro switch works fine but isn't activated unless water flow is on fully)
I have 2 questions really;
How much should I pay to replace the diverter?
Should I cut my losses and replace the whole boiler?

Supply and fit new diverter probably £200-250.

Alot cheaper than a new boiler. Although a new boiler will probably be alot less stressful to your poor old plumber.

Keep the boiler, you have everything to loose by changing it and nothing to gain.

Bit of tlc and proper maintenance, and you will get another 10 years out of it. If your second diverter is on its way out, I suspect corrosion in the system.
CDI is one of the best combi's made in that era, very robust and reliable.

Nah - more likely a perished diaphragm (age, not corrosion, related).

There's every chance it was that the first time round but complete valve replacement can make sense.

I agree thought that there should be plenty of life from the boiler (and given the quiet history the OP shouldn't feel any qualms about spending some money on it when the time comes).
