Hi

I'm not a DIY person or technically minder. Our combi boiler is playing up. CH is fine but when the hot tap is run (whether CH is on or off) the flow is incredibly slow from any tap in the house and there is a thumping noise from the the boiler / pipes. the thumping noise disappears when you turn the tap and reduce the flow to a trickle. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong before I call someone out to look.

cheers

I cannot visualise your boiler but assuming its a typical Worcester boiler then it could be a blocked plate HE.

Nor can I see any reason not to call a boiler engineer if you want it fixed.
