Had to change a flow unit housing on a greenstar last week.

Anyone else starting to do work on the greenstars cause they are a few years old now..

Dunno bout that. Your meant to remove the hydraulic manifold. Which is basically everything you find behind the control panel...maybe boiler off the wall is easier

A few screws, a few clips and hey presto the whole hydraulic block comes off... At least thats what they said at the training centre

Only had one problem with a Junior and that was a failed pressure vessel...

I have had one pcb and one fan !!! For boilers only two years old thats not really expected.

Also went to a four y.o. HiFlo 400 which had a failed fan BUT the fan had already been replaced and that had seized up at only 13 months!!!

I can understand how the fan can develop problems on the earlier models as the heat cell bleed pipe/ valve is just above the multiplug on the fan and it is possible for water from the early valves to drip on to the multiplug which could cause all kinds of havoc.. I complained bitterly to WB. I guess that others did too as the valve has been changed to a better design and also there is a little plastic guard over the multiplug now.. Similarly the gas valve on early models were set very low in the casing where there is a risk of water dragged in from the flue (When it is raining) could have puddled and shorted the connections, this has also been changed. My own 30Si suffered this when my guttering clogged and overflowed and struck the flue. once dried out and my guttering cleared the boiler suffered no ill effects.
