Good little boiler...I like them.. The 2 year old 30Si that I have has never misses a beat and handy with the manufacturers own plug in RF programmer.. Some will prefer Vaillant or Veissman In this type of price range, I think that it is down to personal preference and what a fitter prefers to fit
Whilst I like the plain heat only 12 Ri / 18 Ri /24Ri, I have already had to mend two Juniors when they were only just out of the guarantee period.
That does not give me much confidence in their long term reliability.
They could have supplied me with free parts but they chose not to do so hence my warning that their reliability may not be very high!

On the other side of the coin, Worcester did replace an expansion vessel on a Junior three months out of warranty FOC for one of my customers, this may be the exception rather than the rule, but I have fitted a lot of Juniors and they have given me very little problem.. Yes I would accept that they are still too new to really know but the boilers do seem to constantly be improved as new problems come to light so at least I am confident that they do not allow a known problem to continue regardless... Some may say that all the problems should have been ironed out at the development stage but there will always be things that pop up in the real world that just can't be replicated in a test lab
My replacement PCB looked identical to the failed one!
I think the other was a fan! Worcester fans seem to have a shorter life than some others but at least their fans are not too expensive.
Their PCBs are expensive though!!!

Yes their Band D boiler fans are OK pricewise but check the cost of Band A fans...extortionate.
I've got a Greenstar 30. I've had a few problems with the radio controlled thermostat and the receiver on the boiler.
First off the fitter installed an analogue timer/receiver and thermostat - it lasted 3 weeks before the receiver stopped picking up the signal from the thermostat. I got Worcester out to check it (came next day so I can't fault the aftersales) and apparently they'd recalled that particular receiver because of a defect.
It got replaced with a digital version (foc), but every so often I wake up in a cold house because the receiver has lost the radio signal from the thermostat. Re-setting the receiver solves the problem.
The thermostat is only 4.5m away from the boiler and has a clear view through a archway... so I don't think the siting of the thermostat is to blame. It's due it's service next month, so I'll try and get the receiver replaced again.
Other than that I'd really rate my boiler - it did make a significant saving to my gas bill compared to the last winter on the old boiler. Just make sure you don't get an analogue timer on yours, and perhaps go for a wired thermostat if possible!

Junior boiler has factory set hot water supplied at 56c not adjustable/ no dial control. the 30si has a separate dial control for the hot water and i reckon is better
