Good evening,

Apologies in advance, I am new to the forum but been reading a lot of threads helping in the past months.

I bought an house with a Worcester Greenstar 24Ri, working fine until last week I, started having issue with my diverter valve.
Short story, I came. back from home and after a few hors notice the radiators on (unsure if the hot water was from the rads on in the morning due to diverter causing issues or the boiler turning on on his own?).

Anyway, I opted to switch the boiler off as leaving for a few days from the thermostat Drayton (forgot the switch of the boiler itself).
Came back after a few days, turn it on (I hear it from the other room turning on) and then put the how water on. Nothing comes, thermostat looks on, go to check the boiler, no power, no green and blue light.

Figure out something was blown, one of the fuses on the PCB was gone (why? I don't know). Replace it, power back on and the problem starts.

When the boiler gets turned on I don't hear the previous sound, it is silent, so I tried to put hot water or radiators to check, I hear a quick click then nothing and flashing blue light start flashing quickly. I can see the fan is not moving.

My question is: do you think is the fan gone? Or is another component that should start before the fan, giving it the way to go? Not an expert.
I can also hear the the pump (located in another floor of the house close the the hot water tank) is not working. Also about this I am not sure if that should go on after the boiler start ignition or could be the reason why the fan not starting?

I am just trying to figure out if this is something relatively easy before getting an engineer cause me and my partner wanted to change the boiler anyway, but when doing an extension so I was trying to keep it alive just another year before changing the all thing.

Boiler was serviced by the previous just little less then 12 months ago.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the 3 amp fuse in the fused spur, that is the only thing you can legally check
Thanks.

I already checked the switch on both the boiler and the thermostat controller (and these are a 13A I think, the turn on giving power to both sockets). While the only fuse is possible to disconnect from the PCB is a 2A (and yeah, that was fused when I had no power initially but since replaced the blue light is on).
That's the only thing accessible without touching any more of the components (only opening the front cover and the led panel)

So, right now the boiler has no issues if power is on and there's no request (blu light on) and no fuse blown, only when requesting hot water or heating the blu flashing light starts and there is no green light.
Possibly the fan?

Just trying to narrow down the possible problems before calling a specialist and realize was something incredibly stupid.

Shouldn't be 13A
Yeah, you are right as it is also told on the manual recommendation.
However in the switch I found a 13A and nobody has touched it since we moved in (and was working so far).

Could that have caused the issue?

Pump fan motorised valve, could be out.
Thanks, I am wondering if this is also the case.

However, should the pump start only when the boiler start ignition? Or, the faulty valve could stop the boiler from even attempting to start?

Get a gas safe in. Are the controls calling stat programmer etc. you need to know how to test them correctly.

I think that's the only thing to do, calling a n expert.

I checked the thermostat and, with boiler off, it is calling for the diverter valve. Still the pump doesn't give any signs of life (but, not sure if it should be or just when boiler ignite).

Really annoying situation, as I also noticed on the front that the wiring is not what is should be on manual plus the fused switched with 13A fuse.
The previous owner had a lot of works done but "very good professionals friends of him", and every time I discover crazy things done.

Just because one idiot fitted a 13A fuse doentmean another idiot has to dothe same it is 3 A for a good reason
