Worcester Greenstar sounds like it's firing up...

Hello.

Hoped somebody could advise what's going on with our boiler.

New Worcester Greenstar installed 2 years ago.

We have heating set to come on at 6.30pm until 11pm...no problems here. But about an hour after the heating goes off, the boiler sounds like it's firing back up again. The ignition light doesn't seem to go on but it sounds exactly like it does when the heating initially comes on. This continues for about three or so minutes and then stops. Only does it once (I think...I'm usually asleep shortly after) but wondered if anyone knew what might be going on???

It's the preheat function, press the Eco button to turn it off. (the button will glow green when preheat is off)

Are you really in Columbia? If so how do you find it over there?

John! Thank you so much....this seems to ring a bell with something the plumber said when he installed it.
