just had thermocouple replaced, but still not resolved problem , can fire up boiler but when reaches temp set by thermostat ,seems to just trip out ,cannot relight pilot light for several hours then the same problem runs for about 15 to 20 minutes till at thermostat set temp and trips again.can anyone suggest possible fault and remedy before i bite the bullet and replace the whole system.

Boiler stat prob on its way out and allowing boiler to get hotter than is indicateed and tripping on overheat stat. poss overheat stat faulty and triping to low , try turning boiler stat down a bit and see if it stays on.
Boiler now approx 23 year old and you would notice a big difference with hot water delivery with a new combi as the heatslave was never a brilliant boiler
