I'm hoping to move into a house with one of these floor standing boilers. Looks like...

Looks old now but believed to function well and is due for a service before moving so no real concerns about it. Just wondering if things have moved on considerably since this boiler? Is there much to be gained efficiency wise in newer boilers?
