    Can anyone help ???
We have a Worchester Heatslave 15/19 Oil Fired CH Boiler.

It was switched off, (no heating, no hot water) when a light bulb in the house blew and threw the mains trip switch, when the trip was switched on the extractor fan on the boiler started operating and will not switch off (normally on a timer) Did not switch the boiler on at all

There is a power surge plug on the boiler but it appears to have bypassed it, have tried unplugging it for a time, sometimes this helps to clear electrical circuits but no luck.
The Electrical control box was replaced about 18 months ago, is it going to be a question of replacing again. ?

    Could be control box.
    Could be photo cell.
Call an engineer who should be able to identify the fault in 15 minutes.

Any part can fail at any time.
Especially when a device has been running and is switched off and on
again. It needn't be related. Very old computers that have been running
for years if switched off can fail. Components are most stressed with
    that initial surge of electric.

Are you saying that the burner motor just runs, or does the boiler actually fire?
If just constant motor running, then you may have a failed post purge unit or control box. If the burner fires normally, then check your timeswitch/programmer.

Its the Extractor fan that comes on when the CH or Hot water is switched off, just carries on running
    The burner fires normally,
So its possible that the Purge unit has failed then.??

Maybe if you can check out the PCB you may see a burnt track or component?

Sounds like the post purge pcb. Easy to replace, or even dispense with completely.
