Can anyone advise where I can view the regulations regarding worktop space either side of a hob. My understanding is that hobs should not be placed next to a doorway or wall, with 300ml either side. Is this a general guideline or a specific legal regulation? Many thanks.

the position next to a door or under a window (where curtaind could hang down) SHOULD be avoided, therefore not mandatory, it is also recommended that a minimum of 300mm is left to use the pots (clearance for handles etc when all rings are in use) this can be reduced to 50mm if the surface is non-combustible
