I need to install a couple of straight worktops in my galley-style kitchen. Both are just a shade over 2m in length.
The big sheds seem to have 3m laminate worktops in stock. I plan to get them chopped down to 2.2m or similar using their in-store cutting service.
Then I have to get them them home...
Will they fit in an Escort van? I may be able to borrow one of these.
Otherwise, I will need to hire a Transit, or arrange delivery.

Thanks
Mike

why not just measure the escort van ?

prob be cheaper to buy a roof rack for your car or the van than hiring a van

or even get the supplier to deliver

Agreed. 3m worktops will easily go on an escort roof rack.

Most sheds do have a cutting service, but do they have staff who are experienced in cutting laminate worktops?

I thought this would be a 'pimp my ride' thread. 18" chrome rims, neon cill lights, plasma screen and 5000w sound system and ....... beech worktops with chrome leg and tile splashback :P B1tchin' ride 'bro

They wont fit in straight, but 2.2 may fit in diagonally to the top of the bulkhead. If there is no bulkhead or cage, then they may go across the passenger seat. You can leave the back doors open, but tied if need be.

Don't forget some timber support if loading 3m worktops on the roof

Thanks. I'll have a think about the options.
I don't feel too confident about driving around with 2 x 3m worktops on my roof. But I've never used a roof rack before, so maybe that's why.
