Having moved into my new flat I wasn't happy to find a bath only.
Anyway, decided I would like a shower to run off my combi boiler.
The fella came and as it's not an option to have a 'concealed shower due to layout of my flat.

So he installed a mixed shower, thermostatic control and temperature control. But coming up out of my bath behind the taps are 2 plastic pipes connecting to the bar.

Is this a normal fitting? I would of preferred chrome thinking of it but is this a normal fitting? Just had me mithered.

Could chrome pipes be fitted? Having it all tiled soon :)
Advise please.

Wow, that's as rough as a badger's arris isn't it. Could you post a closer picture of just the valve, side on? I'm interested to see what's actually holding the valve onto the wall, normally that type of shower is installed with concealed pipework.

It could be done in chrome, but it'll be expensive as chrome pipe is expensive and all the pipework he's put in will need replacing. Neither is really the normal way of fitting this type of shower though, normally you'd chase the wall out and bury the pipes in the wall

That is rough !!! Has he drilled the bath to get the pipes under ?

You need to get the rest of the shower area tiled (preferably tanked as well) or your going to have some serious damp and mould problems.
The pipework should be the least of your worries with that installation.

Thanks everyone for getting back, I can't have it concealed due to my layout.

He took the bath panel off I'm sure, I'll do another photo of the side.
The shower works fine (thankfully) I'm having it all tiled and it was one of the tilers who said it was a novel way doing it!

I was going for an electric shower initially and he said this type is a lot better. I might have to save and get chrome pipes instead of plastic :(

Oh well looking forward to the tiles going on at weekend.

I'll do a closer photo
Thanks everyone :D

Hi Dean what does tanked mean? Sorry I'm a real novice :(

What do you mean you can't have it concealed. The link I posted shows a bath shower mixer which replaces the bath taps and does exactly the same as that mixer you have on your wall. It's daft really

I didn't want to be messing fiddling with taps and thought the thermostatic would be perfect! Plus I've paid a bit for it now without more expense.

I'll get chrome piping so will look more blended in.

My bathroom is next to my neighbours hall and wouldn't be allowed by my landlord to start digging out!

There are the pipes going in side of bath. Grrrr

Never mind. You are not following

The link you did would them taps have temperature set on them?
Then yes they should have been fitted, feel really fleeced!
My last bathroom in my last place had a walk-in-shower and was all done but due to ill health had to move. It has really got to me.
