Inside the unit mounted at far right There is a floating bus bar connected to bottom left connection (this is the faulty one) which supplies 8 (2 unused) MCBS The MCBS are mounted to its left Next to these is the main switch with its own floating bus bar with 2 further MCBs

This is just to say that today we contacted a local electrician who replaced the RCD with an equivalent. He said that the original had not been correctly fitted to the busbar and that as also the busbar was fitted the wrong way round It is a wonder it lasted as long as it did

Looks like a very generic RCD to me.

As opposed to a "slightly" generic one!
