would this defeat the whole point of wall insulation?

Am installing 37mm insulated PIR board via dot and dab.

Around door and window reveals, i was going to use standard 12.5mm plasterboard instead of 37.5mm board- would this defeat the whole point of insulating the wall, or would it be ok?

Careful you don’t cause a cold spot, as the room moisture will be attracted to it

Some insulation better than none otherwise you will get water condensing there.
If thickness is issue, cut pir board thinner (say 10mm) for window reviews.
