I plugged in my new hard drive (Samsung Story Station) into old hard drive (Maxtor) and it shows the new drive as being there. I can read all the files on the new hard drive but if I try to all any file or make a directory it says "Access denied" however plug it into PC USB instead of LAN hard drive and I can add any files I want.
The small iomega drive works great with the Maxtor drive and so do most of my USB sticks. The Clickfree drive will not work or the 32GB memory stick but since both of these do not use an external power supply I have blamed the problem on power drawn from LAN drive.
I have tried to set permissions but it seems OK. Any ideas why I can only read with it plugged into Maxtor drive.
